Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it is time to start planning the meal and our home decor. First, we need to get out all of our decorations and decide
what to use for our table center piece. You may want to use a tray with a mixture of gourds and small pumpkins, pine cones and maybe a candle. Remember a small arrangement is best so as to have room for all your side dishes along with your main dish. Next we need to go through the house and decorate. If you have a mantle this would be a main visual point, or if you have somewhere else that you would like to highlight, this would be a good place to start. Just go through and maybe decorate side tables, hall table and etc. We don’t want to forget the entry door, a nice fall wreath on the door, and beside the door maybe a bail of hay with an old galvanized bucket or water can on top with dried flowers and a pumpkin or artificial turkey on the side. Just use your imagination.
Now it is time to decide what our menu is for our Thanksgiving dinner and how many we will be serving. If you have a frozen turkey don’t forget to thaw it out in the refrigerator three to four days prior to preparing it. Next you need to decide what side dishes you are having, most of these can be prepared the day before and popped into the oven the next day. Deserts can also be prepared the day before; or better yet allow your guest to bring desert, this will be a time saver for you and your guest will feel that they contributed to the meal.
